McCarthys move to Broadland Business Park

Local company wins tender for warehouse site

Norfolk’s premier fruit and vegetable merchant, D&F McCarthy Limited, has selected Broadland Business Park as the location for its new distribution centre.

The company has purchased a 2 acre plot at Memorial Way and intends to construct a new 21,500 sq ft facility during the course of next year. McCarthys were successful in winning a competitive tender for the 2 acre plot.

Roche Chartered Surveyors are joint agents for the owners of Broadland Business Park and the sale is understood to have created a record price for a serviced plot of its size. James Allen of Roche negotiated the transaction for Lothbury Property Trust and commented:

“Broadland Business Park has established itself as the pre-eminent location for distribution in the Norwich area which is reflected in the land price achieved in this transaction.McCarthys will join other occupiers in the distribution sector who we have placed at Broadland over the years. These include Bertram Books, DHL, Menzies, City Link, Start-rite Shoes and Makro.”
